#100DaysofPoetry Day 13. We the People

We the People (words by JAIAquarian, music by JAIAquarian, Yosef Rouch, Alex Babeanu)

If (E7)today’s the first day of (A7)another way to be,

Verses: E7 to A7

Every third verse line is A7-> Bm7

Transition:

E-A-D-G-C-C-C-C-C

Chorus:

Bm7 ->G7 (x3)

G7 ->A7

Transition

A7 (x2)

We’re gonna (E7)take what we can from that (A7)old life set it free

Grow some (E7)wings catch up on things and (A7)invent a destiny

For when (A7)all we need is focus, capti(Bm7)vating hocus pocus

distracts us and (E7)provokes and let the burdens (A7)yoke us

What we see is what we be and no loss or tragedy

would take our love of free and confuse our liberty

So come on stand for whole world stillness, stand for love and truth,

stand for one mind knowing we the People are the roots.

The time is almost certain, we are gonna rise again,

we the people have been sitting and the moment’s come to stand

You’re not free you own a gun, you’re free when you can gather,

show concern for a debate, free press will always matter.

Sure you’ve got some options, sure you’ve got some game.

Will you play for only peanuts or really raise the stakes.

We the people gather to make music and make matter

Love is like the ladder and we’ll take another step

To move in one great motion let us not again forget.

Love is our devotion, its really not complex.

So come on stand for whole world stillness, stand for love and truth,

stand for one mind knowing we the People are the roots.

The time is almost certain, we are gonna rise again,

we the people have been sitting and the moment’s come to stand

There is evidence of uplift, cooperation and a cause,

there’s a time to sit and wonder consideration’s pause

For every crime that goes unpunished (even justice has its flaws)

There’s a simple act of courage that escapes routin applause

We can bit the hands the feeds us or learn to grow our own

We can try to beat the system or  we can open up our homes

Share what gifts we get by ginving what we got

Our needs are pretty simple, our wants are not a lot

So come on stand for whole world stillness, stand for love and truth,

stand for one mind knowing we the People are the roots.

The time is almost certain, we are gonna rise again,

we the people have been sitting and the moment’s come to stand

While we carry a great weight, the people designate

Ambassadors of fate to teach us its too late, no you’ll never be like this

Will you ever be this fit? Where’s the glamour, here’s a gift some celebrity put their name on it

We play the name game put microscopes on fame

Press the flesh, put to test, the confidence with shame

Fashion is attraction cause identity is traction

Get a lift, here’s a bit of attention for your passion

So come on stand for whole world stillness, stand for love and truth,

stand for one mind knowing We the People are the roots.

The time is almost certain, we are gonna rise again,

We the People have been sitting and the moment’s come to stand.
